Friday Cabins #52: It's Brilliant Cabins Near London Innit Love

www.cabinsetc.com

Welcome back to another Friday, we did it. The weekend beckons and before you go, here’s a bit of Friday Cabins inspo to send you off right. Here at Cabins Etc, each week we deliver a finely curated selection of leisure architecture we love, right to your inbox.

As I started writing this, I kid you not, the heaven’s opened up and released one flurry of snow equal to exactly 18 snowflakes, and I’m taking it. Perhaps Punxsutawney Phil manifested it with his yearly forecast yesterday, as the little guy does see six more weeks of winter ahead. But what about the snow, Phil?

Anyway, weekly weather aside over, today we’re headed to the UK, where really neat glamping projects abound. In fact, they have their own glamping resource over there called Canopy & Stars, and tbh, it might just be better than Airbnb. So we gathered up a few of the stand-outs for you to peruse today, because the British Pound is weak AF and we’ve all got the travel jitters.

Want more? There’s plenty to explore over on Field Mag dot com.

Thank you for reading Cabins Etc. This post is public so feel free to share it.

⛺5 Dreamy Glamping Sites Outside London Worth Visiting in 2023

About a 2.5 hour drive outside of London, the quirky Norfolk County hosts a bounty of outdoor attractions, alongside countryside pubs, fresh seafood, and pints of local beer (but it’s probably warm cus they like it like that :\ ). The Norfolk Coast Path is a popular 83-mile hiking trail that runs along the ocean, and while walkers frequent the path day-to-day, the whole thing can be completed in just 7 to 10 days. Not a bad way to spend a week.

Elsewhere, the Norfolk Broads is a network of navigable rivers and bodies of water, teeming with animal life, agricultural farmland, and riverside cottages. It’s exactly the sort of fairytale landscape you would imagine in the English countryside.

Sprinkled throughout are the below cabins, glamping tents, and more which are perfect base camps for exploring the vibrant area. Scroll on and choose your player.

Bagthorpe Farm — King’s Lynn, UK

Bagthorpe Farm is 300-hectare mixed organic farm in rural North Norfolk. Glamping options include the Woodcock Glamping Cabin, and the Oyster Catcher, a pair of twin biodomes available in the warmer months.

Rate: £POA

SETTLE — Attleborough, UK

This family-run glamping site features a cabin, restored railway carriages, and a canvas safari tent. All have been outfitted in a minimal rustic-meets midcentury style, with contemporary furnishings, and a touch of English countryside luxury. As a whole, this might be one of the most well-done glamping projects we’ve seen to date.

Rate: £430/two night stay

Getaway Hideaway — Dereham, UK

These charming glamping pods are horse trucks turned tiny houses. Entitled Douglas and Dixie, the renovations were completely hand-crafted, and feature wood stoves, exposed copper piping, kitchenettes, solar power, fire pits, and loft beds.

Rate: £180/night

The Wren’s Nest at Fire Pit — Dereham, UK

The Wren’s Nest is a truly one-of-a-kind glamping experience. The wonky structure was handcrafted by woven hazel branches, then covered by a tent. Make no mistake though, it’s perfectly cozy, and a little magical, with a kitchenette, wood stove, and two beds for accommodation.

The Woodland Boat — Norwich, UK

Stay in a houseboat, but on land, in this unique rental near Thetford Forest. Set on a working farm, relax in your hot tub and watch the horses graze in the pastures, or take a walk around the busy property.

Rate: £400/two night stay

That’s all for today. Enjoy your weekend! Stay warm!
