Welcome to our first installment of Friday Cabins (working title), your weekly wrap up of the latest cabin content to grace the digital pages of Field Mag dot com.
Consider this a sneak peek of what all Cabins Etc subscribers will receive each Friday morning from here on out. As this is more or less the first official email from your new friends at Cabins Etc (i.e me, Graham Hiemstra, Founder of Field Mag, and occasionally FM Assistant Editor Ellen Eberhardt), I’d like to start off with a genuine thank you. To paying Certified Cabin Lover tier subscribers and free subs alike. You all rule. This is a big experiment, and your support is hugely appreciated :)
Tbh we’ve been easing back into the swing of things here at FM HQ in NYC (hence the 5:30pm Friday send lol sry). After two weeks spent snowed in at my family’s humble little forest service cabin on Mt. Hood, Oregon, the transition back from serene old growth forest (cabin tour/slice of that good life here btw) to blaring car horns and brownstones back in BK has been a bit jarring. But that’s life, baby! And I’m psyched to be home and to talk cabins with ya’ll!
Scroll on for a fresh set of architectural inspo, new to Field Mag this week. From a treehouse hotel in the Arctic and a mobile micro cabin in Australia to a modular Icelandic prefab, click thru each image below to read the full article on Field Mag.
